Autumn is Right Around the Corner

“Delicious autumn! My soul is very wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns!” -George Eliot

One of the seasons I enjoy the most during
the year is autumn! Autumn is my favorite season! I love this season because I enjoy bonfires, go to see some the fall sports, watch leaves with a red-orange yellow color fall into my hand, the crisp cool breeze blowing in my face, spending time with my family and friends making memories, and the holidays that are almost here! My favorite memory of autumn is when I was a kid, my family and I went to the Pigeon Roost Farm. We go about every year there, but the farm is a great place! My sister and I would go through corn mazes, ride the tractors, take silly pictures, and many more things while we there. Before we would leave, my sister and I would pick a pumpkin to take home with us. I personally think this season brings my family closer because I think of the great times we have with each other!

College Decisions

Throughout high school, we get letters from colleges from different places. When I was a sophomore, I received my first college letter! I got pretty excited about it because I was wanted know more information on college. I had many questions about college. I wanted to  know how some colleges can see students progression throughout their high school years? I’ve heard that colleges will continue to bombard you with letters, magazines, small postcards, send emails to you, and ask you to come see the main campus for a tour of the college up until senior year. I’ve been looking at some places for college such as Bellarmine University, Akron University, Kent State, and a few others. Those colleges seem to be great places to attend to after I graduate high school. I know it’s difficult to pick the college of your choice, but once you know where you’d like to go, then you’ll know which place fits your personality.

Don’t Give Up on Hope

Have you ever wondered if you could do more for someone that can’t do much because their fighting an incurable illness, thinking things will get better for them? Yes. Have you wished that they try to keep fighting whatever they are battling with? Yes. About a year ago, I found out that my grandpa has prostate cancer stage 4. I was scared because the knew I heard the word “cancer”. This type of cancer is horrible because it affects a person very quickly. My family and I have been spending time with him from the past few months. Everyday, I always keep thinking and hoping he will get better. My grandpa is not only a wonderful man, but he is my hero. He teaches me something new when I spend time with him. He is my inspiration for me going into the navy too. I hope he will continue to fight enough to watch me walk across the stage when I graduate. He and I share so much together. The best thing I share with him is my birthday because I was born on his birthday. Even though I see him struggle with his prostate cancer, that doesn’t mean that I give up on hope. No, I think will beat this cancer. “My father’s death from prostate cancer in 1993 was tragic. He never complained about pain. He was a fighter. By the time he was ready to die he wasn’t able to die in the way that he wanted to, which seemed an outrage to me. ” -Zoe Wanamaker

Music is Free

“Get on the dance floor. While the music  is free.” -Til the Dawn by Step Up Cast. When I hear one of my favorite songs come onto my Pandora or I think of a good song to look on YouTube, the first thing I do without hesitating is dance. Dancing is something that has been a part of my life since I was seven years old. I was interested into dancing by my dad, he’s a ballroom dance instructor. I see him dance like he hasn’t’ danced in years. My first dance competition I did with my dad when I was nine years old. I had the best dance experience with him! It was so much fun! When I dance now, I don’t pay attention to anything except what plays on my iPod. Dancing is a way to express how you feel, how you can illustrate what your thinking when think of the word “dance”, and how much fun dancing can be.

Biggest Dream for Senior Year

Throughout my years of high school, one thing has interested me since I first heard about it. The navy. My older sister told me that she wanted to go into the navy after she graduated from high school. I’d hear her tell me many things about the navy such as what they can do for you when your in the service, what benefits you get after you served your time, and how going into the military is a life changing experience. After she graduated from high school, she told me she changed her mind. Some of my friends thought I was chasing my older sister’s dream, but this is my dream to chase. Ever since sophomore year, I’ve been wanting to know more information about this. In the navy, my dream is to possibly be in nursing or cardiology in the medical field. A few of my uncles have been in the navy before me. I’ll hopefully be the first female in my family to go into the military. I want to inspire others that you can do anything if you put your mind and heart into what your dream will be. It may be quite a challenge to go in the navy, but I want to make this dream my future.

What the Future Holds

As seniors, we start our final year of high school. We come across some obstacles that we’re about face within these next few months. We start thinking about applying to the college of dreams, getting ready to take SAT’s and ACT’s, finalizing things with our military recruiters, taking on responsibilities as adults, exploring our career options, and enjoying our final year. Sometimes senior year can become difficult because the things that we are involved in such as sports, volunteer work, working after school, or anything else can be time consuming. Even when we do some of these things can be fun because we make memories with our friends throughout our high school years. When we figure out what we want to do with our lives before graduation comes around, then we can start the next chapter. Even though it can hard at times, other times can be memorable with the people that surround us.
